The Mandt Park Swim Pond, located behind the Mandt Community Center, has been a popular place for swimmers for more than 50 years. The water hole is filled with city water and is chlorinated. It features a sand bottom and zero-depth entry, perfect for toddlers.

A standoff with an apparently suicidal man in Stoughton ended in tragedy Monday when the man shot himself next to his vehicle on Commerce Drive.
The Dane County Coroner’s office isn’t releasing the name of the victim, which is not unusual in a case involving suicide. However, he is believed to be from the Stoughton area. Tuesday, July 13, 2010
